Thomas Karsten (prices: 950 € - 2500 €)

The Photographer Thomas Karsten was born in 1958 and has worked since 1983 for magazines such as Stern, Art, Eltern, Nerve (New York), Capital.
His first illustrated book published by C.J. Bucher, »Thomas - mach ein Bild von uns!«, received the renowned photography prize »Kodak-Fotobuchpreis« in 1988. Since then, he has published over ten photography books dealing with various subjects in nude photography, which have made him well-known internationally.
Thomas Karsten's art is a mixture of an exact composition - of backgrounds, of light, and also of the moments when the shutter is released - and spontaneous sparks which emit between him and the photographed person - mostly women but also couples, families. He doesn't force a specific appearance on the bodies and equally they seldom have to show the effort of desperately trying to represent something, like for example attempting to appear erotic. They are, what they are, pleasant, loveable, fresh, dreamy, erotic of one's own accord.
His photographs appear in many international exhibitions and publications on photography. Thomas Karsten is considered Germany's most published living photographer of nude models. He lives in Vierkirchen, near Munich.
